Returning to the retro future “Waste My Time” is an upbeat and defiant track about a relationship gone wrong. Complex electronic elements blend with synthesizers and gritty guitars to push an atmosphere full of anxiety and grim determination. The provocative lyrics draw the obvious conclusion. Why in the world do I waste my time? “Waste My Time” is another example of just how wide and diverse Klayton’s musical talents are as he raised the bar to yet more heights while simultaneously hinting at what’s to come.
“Scandroid is the project where I explore the sounds of bygone eras,” explains Klayton. “From artists like The Cure, Depeche Mode and Tears for Fears to bands like Judas Priest, Bad Religion and Social Distortion. I feel like I have unlimited inspiration to capture the sounds that represented some of the best times of my life. When writing “Waste My Time” I knew I also wanted to augment the production with screams and aggressive synths and that’s when I knew this would become a self-collaboration with my project Celldweller.”
