The UK’s own Southern Rockers, Sons Of Liberty, are delighted to announce their return to the fray with their first new music for two full years. The new single ‘Time To Fly’ will be released 1 September 2023. The track is a taster of the band’s much anticipated 3rd album, which will be released next year and has been produced / mixed by Josiah J Manning [Kris Barras Band], and recorded at Momentum Studios. Sons Of Liberty have also made available a video for the song which was directed by Kris Barras.  Building on their reputation for incendiary live performances, this new music will super-charge their already impressive trajectory. Classic Rock said that their potent brand of vintage rock ’n’ roll, “Bears comparison to their illustrious heroes” and it’s easy to see why.

With Russ Grimmett now fronting the band – and welcomed with open arms by fans on the live circuit – the band have a freshness and drive that will see them lifted to the next level. The album is rooted in universal themes with songs about ordinary people achieving extraordinary things – though in truth this band is seriously special – and keeping the faith: dreams can indeed come true. Previous singles gained Track of the Week status at Classic Rock and Planet Rock, as well as airplay, DJ Paul Anthony said of ‘Damaged Reputation’, “This has made the massive leap to our main playlist – that’s how highly we think of it”.

Sons of Liberty are Russ Grimmett (Vocals), Fred Hale and Andy Muse (Guitars), Mark Thomas (Bass) and Steve Byrne (Drums). Their first album ‘Animism’ dropped in 2020, and the follow up ‘Aces & Eights’ landed the following year. The band have already performed with acts like Preacher Stone, FM, Grand Slam and Molly Hatchet, Sons Of Liberty can hold their own on any stage.

Fred said of the position the band find themselves in, “We love the challenge of creating the best new music that we can as much as we do performing live, but most of all we just love spending time together and meeting all of our friends wherever we go”.  They are all aware that the new single is something special, with Moose stating that, “‘Time To Fly’ was one of the first songs that Russ worked up from a rough initial idea into something magical – the song still makes the hairs on my arms stand up”.  Russ added, “This song was one that stood out a mile for me, given the ‘meaning’ and how much it packs a punch. I couldn’t be more grateful to be in such an awesome band with such a powerful first single to clear the path”.
 
The path for take-off is indeed now clear for Sons Of Liberty, it is ‘Time To Fly’ so please fasten seat belts and stow tray tables, it’s going to quite a ride.
